Home birth midwifery in the northeast region of Minnesota with Alisha Stoltzfus, community midwife.
I am a mother of three, with very different birth experiences with each of my children. I began with a medicated, intervention filled hospital birth, a natural birth center birth for my second, and an autonomous home birth with my third. Because of my story, my presence and expertise comes with compassion and love, meeting you where you are at, and a humble spirit in honoring your personal journey in fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I am called to this work by God, living in mission to love, care, and support new life, birth, and death. I may come across as a challenger amidst our present cultural ideals, and am truly an advocate and voice to what is inherently designed, miraculous, and beautiful.
I am an apprentice-trained, continuity of care, family centered, community based, independent and traditional midwife. I attended primarily home births while learning under Duluth Midwife, Margo Nelson TM and supporting families as a doula in hospital and home in Duluth, Minnesota area for 3 1/2 years. I also assisted and was observed by four Certified Professional Midwives, Chandra Fischer CPM, Serena Lynch CPM, Dionne Corcoran CPM, and Molly Troumbly CPM Heart to Heart Midwifery.

I am very active in pursuing continuing education and attending worldwide birth conferences. I also am passionate about training future midwives in the community and globally.
When not attending births, I am at home with my three beautiful children and beloved husband. You will most likely see us outside hiking, gardening, and enjoying our 40-acre, retired dairy farm and wooded property. I love the outdoors, playing my grand piano (I am still an aspiring classical piano performer and teacher), growing and gathering herbs and making remedies, teaching childbirth education workshops, cooking delicious food, and serving my local church as a worship leader.

I am a wife, mother, follower of Christ, and student midwife. I was called into birth work after the transforming birth of my daughter in April 2020 and began attending births with Alisha in early 2021.
I believe that birth works best when the birthing mother is trusted and supported. My hope is to become a midwife that trusts God’s perfect design of birth and serves women in a way that respects their autonomy.
I am certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR. I am also a doula and placenta encapsulator, serving women in the Duluth, MN and surrounding areas.
I am a student midwife, disciple of Christ, wife, and mother come spring 2024. I felt called to birth work after spending some time pursuing medicine in college.
Realizing that birth is a beautiful non-pathological event, I am determined to help other women feel empowered to birth, honoring God’s original design. My goal is to educate women and their families so together they can make informed decisions for themselves.
Currently I am attending school through the GO midwife program. I am also a doula and certified in childbirth education, CPR, and Neonatal Resuscitation.
